POWERLINE – By John Hinderaker

[O]f course, employers can’t “tell their employees how to vote.” Employees can vote however they want; we have a secret ballot in all state and federal elections. (The only people who are trying to abolish the secret ballot are labor unions, via card check legislation which will allow unions to threaten and intimidate employees to vote for union representation when they do not want to do so.) Employers can only explain how certain policies would help or hurt their economic prospects.

So how are the Koch brothers (“established wealth”) helping themselves to public resources? They have consistently opposed all forms of corporate welfare. Actually, it is government at various levels that helps itself freely to the Kochs’ resources, and those of their employees. And “common people tugging deferentially on their forelocks?” Epps, like so many leftists, lives in a fantasy world. Actually, America has historically been a land where common people achieve extraordinary success, and sometimes wealth, by working hard and being independent and creative, not by being toadies and currying political favor. That’s the way conservatives, including the Koch brothers, want to keep it.

HOUSTON CHRONICLE – By Charles McPhate

THE WICHITA EAGLE – By J. Richard Coe

The freedoms that facilitate prosperity and economic well-being have been under attack for decades, but especially in recent years. Charles and David Koch should be regarded as heroes for their historic effort of unprecedented magnitude to protect our way of life (Oct. 14 Eagle).

The evidence is overwhelming that as governments get bigger, they take more from producers and life gets tougher for consumers. Free markets always work better than big governments in helping people economically.

THE WICHITA EAGLE – Rosalie Hatfield

Thank you, Koch brothers, for standing up for freedom from invasive and ever-expanding federal intrusion in our lives. Keep up the fight for those of us “little people” who don’t have the means.
