Money was a wonderful thing in 2008, when Barack Obama had so much of it that he became the first major party presidential candidate to turn down federal financing of his campaign. But the worm has turned in 2012. Dismayed by Obama’s lousy record in office, contributors are abandoning his campaign and swinging their support to Mitt Romney. The campaigns have released their June fundraising numbers, and Romney has scored another solid victory.

Ultimately, the attacks on the Kochs will fail because Americans recognize their family-owned business is built on hard work. The brothers employ 50,000 in the United States and they use their wealth to support causes that promote self-reliance, individual liberty and limited government. They live what they believe, unlike the liberals who try to tear them down.

On Monday, New York Times reporters Michael Barbaro and Sarah Wheaton made much of a left-wing protest of Mitt Romney fundraising in the well-heeled Hamptons, “Romney Mines the Hamptons for Campaign Cash.” The text box: “Protesters gather outside events in sprawling homes.”
President Obama hauled in $15 million in Hollywood at a fundraiser on George Clooney’s Hollywood estate on May10. Yet searches of Nexis and nytimes.com indicate the Times didn’t even cover the fundraiser in its print edition, limiting event coverage to a noncritical blog post.
The Times plucked out precisely those details that emphasized wealth and privilege, opening with a woman demanding the V.I.P. entrance.

WASHINGTON FREE BEACON
A small and disorganized group of liberal protesters led by a convicted terrorist protested outside of a Hamptons fundraiser for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney Sunday.
Around 100 to 150 sign-wielding activists, roused to action by a cadre of Democrat and left-wing organizations, descended on the site of the fundraiser, held at the home of liberal bete noir David Koch.

Newsday estimated the “crowd” at 100. An Occupier estimated the crowd at 150, while local law enforcement gave CNN a generous estimate of 200 protesters.

That is a pathetic showing. The average high school graduation party attracts more people than that. Remember when MoveOn was considered a potent political force? When Occupy was being touted as the equal of the Tea Party? When Greenpeace amounted to something, and the Teamsters Union at least had the ability to turn out lots of goons? Those days are long gone.
